Cinema, Bus Schedules and Traffic Links for Bellevue, Washington
Dan wrote up a list of quick links for a previous, extremely short-lived blog we had for residents of Bellevue’s 989 Elements, our old apartment in a new highrise…in a DE-LUXE apartment…in the skyyyyyy:
Here is a collection of links for the Bellevue area that might come in handy for visitors to the area:
Movie Theaters and showtimes
Bus Schedules
Traffic
WSDOT - webcam on 8th ave bridge (not like we need this because residents can just look out our windows.)
You say Halo. I say Game On!
Halo 3 is out this Fall. Are you ready for it? Sundays, lounge, football on the TV, Halo 3 tournaments, billiards, cookin’ on the grill. That’s what I’m talkin ’bout!
Here’s some geek-porn to get your excited:
This is the way the world ends. This commercial was shot with the working prototype of the Halo 3 graphics engine. You have to see this in HiDef to appreciate the details. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy I can’t wait.
Do you think we’ll ever meet them?
Making of Halo 3: Et tu Brute? (7 minutes)
Making of Halo 3: Multiplayer (7 minutes) You have to see the wicked stuff they are adding to gameplay. It’s near the end of the video.
Making of Halo 3: Trailer (7 minutes)
Gameplay. (3 minutes) Just showing off the gameplay. No voice over.
King and I : Thai Food Restaurant in Downtown Bellevue
A Dan post - May 3rd, 2007: Dan reviewed a Thai food restaurant we could walk to from our old 989 Elements apartment in Downtown Bellevue, outside Seattle, Washington:
My wife and I joined another couple from here at 989 Elements for dinner at the King and I Thai food restaurant (Google Map Link). We went on our friends’ recommendation as they love Thai and have tried just about every option within walking distance.
I thought the food was just fine. They give you a choice of 1-5 on how spicy you want your food. I like mine pretty darn spicy and went with a 4. That put some hot in my mouth so next time I’ll go with 3.
The place is pretty small and we found the service to be good. Our waiter was in training and did a fine job.
From reading other reviews I noticed that they add a 15% gratuity to your bill if you’re in a party of 4 or more. I don’t think I noticed that so I probably tipped them twice. So watch out for that. I personally think they should make it clear that they already tipped themselves.
Easy Steps to use Lunar Pages for Web Hosting
We get a lot of questions about what web hosting service we use. We have an excellent package with Lunarpages. Plus, it’s a cool name. Here is Dan writing about how to set yourselves up:
Filed under Dan's Posts | Comment (0)I use Lunarpages and they’ve been pretty good this past year. I just renewed today in fact. Here’s a link to their basic hosting package.
http://www.lunarpages.com/id/polygeekcom/goto/basic-hosting/To do Wordpress hosting you want the PHP package and that’s about it. That’s what I have. They have PLENTY of bandwidth with their plans. I serve a good bit of video and I still don’t come close to using more that 10% of my monthly bandwidth.
Here’s a checklist that I made up for myself to follow when setting up blogs

Using Email to Talk at Home
Dan and I both work at home. Our offices are a few bedrooms apart in the downstairs part of our house. So we are both here all day: yet to communicate, we email, IM and Twitter each other.
I woke up to this in my inbox today:
I’m going to work until about 1-2 and then go run some errands:
* Check mail
* get a haircut
* get milk
* mail the Cisco device
* go to bank and deposit checks, if there are any.Today is going to be about as hot as yesterday so it will be good to be out of my office this afternoon. The highs are supposed to drop into the mid 80s starting tomorrow.
Aren’t we cute? (Or lazy, or waaay too plugged in, you choose).
