It’s All About Me
Want to know about my life and projects? This is my personal blog. I am The HippyGeek. Hear me purr.
The breakdown for my writing:
CrestlineLiving.com is my local town website
JillFlorio.com is the archive of my professional articles
HippyGeek.net is this blog. Just day to day thoughts
And Still More about Me:
Jill comes from a journalistic background, as a full-time reporter and photographer for the Prescott Valley Tribune and Arizona Big Bug News. She’s published with The Prescott Courier, Arizona Republic, AP Wire, Chino Valley Review, Flagstaff Living, Flagstaff Mountain Living, SWEAT Magazine, Suite101.com, BellaOnline.com, Serving Arizona, Room Magazine, TravelWise.com and - honestly - countless other periodicals. Jill authored/edited the 4th and 5th editions of Arizona Off the Beaten Path by Globe-Pequot.
She was one of the Section Editors for Suite101.com for many years, and helped shape the direction it is in today. Her job as Art Editor for Flagstaff Live was a natural segue her position as Founding Editor in Chief for MUSED, the BellaOnline Literary Review.
Jill was also a morning radio DJ in Flagstaff, under the name of Jill Love, for rock station KZGL, 95.5 FM. Ultimately she found the hours were better with freelance writing. As far as the money…well, let’s say hippies like freedom more than cash.
Lastly, Jill would like everyone to see her cute dogs:

I see you have a wicker chair in your about me photo. The way you have that blanket draped over the back definitely gives it a 70’s hippy look. You obviously have style.
Hey, thanks Damon. Hippy style is at least a style.
BTW, my MIL made that blanket for me out of my favorite color combination. She pretty much rocks.
Dogs are great to have around the house with you.
They never judge you when you’re moody, and they are always there to give you a lick when you need it.
Woman’s best friend?
So true, Eric. My dogs are the best. I’ve had Frodo (the chihuahua) since he was the size of my hand, 9 years ago. Kaylee is the lovely fluffy girl I rescued from death row in a shelter a year ago. I can’t possibly be lonely when I have my two little buddies around.
Hi Jill,
I just read you blog about your visit to my store, The New Thrift Store, In Camp Verde, AZ. Thank you so much for all your kind words. Next time you are in please introduce youself so that I can thank you in person. I really look foreward to meeting you!
Pamela
Pam, I will surely do that. Maybe you can give me a behind the scenes tour for me to write up.
Jeez, I seriously need to update this page. Once again I have morphed into new work projects. I don’t even live in Crestline anymore.
My dog is my best friend! I love her!
