Make RVing Romantic

August 27th, 2009

RVing to me is very romantic. You have your own kitchen for making scrumptious or sensual meals/desserts. Your own bed with clean, gorgeous linens of your choice and perhaps a feather bed and coverlet. You can light candles inside, or sit outside by a lovely fire while you cook a fine meal together or share a glass of wine at sunset. You have total privacy, your own personal belongings right with you in cabinets and closets (not a duffel bag), and a place to make “homey” and decorate to your tastes.

Plus, then the world is your oyster! If you find romance by a quiet lake, a rushing river, on a mountaintop or by the ocean, you have it all without the normal stresses of regular travel. You can fish, golf, sit in the sun by a sparkling pool, read while birds sing in the trees or even nap all day in your wonderful personal sheets. (I am ALL about nice linens!)

Has anyone ever had a romantic trip in their RV, or wanted to?

You make it sound really cool, but dont you find it stressfull having to find a parking place for your semi?
and what happens when you need to pick up some groceries, do you have to pack every thing away or do you have one of those dinky little cars that are towed behind your RV.
Sorry to rain on your parade, but are they practical?

Wow, that does sound romantic. We travelled around for 6 months in a very small camper that was basically a pickup truck with a roof. That was nice in a different way :)

That is also a lovely idea - much closeness = possible intimacy! Plus you can set up the back with thick and luxurious bedding, fluffy pillows, some scented linen spray and tiny candles. :)

What a beautiful blog post. Even though I am single, I do find the life itself romantic.

Sixpaws, thank you. But one traveling alone also needs to set aside romantic time - for one’s self! Maybe once a week, have a ‘date’ with yourself - light candles, play music you enjoy, drink some wine, and assign yourself something fun, like writing a poem, reading a book, working on a craft. Or visiting the jacuzzi in one of the RV parks.

Graham - there are, of course, drawbacks to RVing and you do have to focus more on logistical planning. I do have a dinky little car to tow, but finding a place to park is not an issue at all. That part is a lot of fun - that is the exploring aspect! And with my park membership program I could live all year long in these great resort parks.

I love camping in an RV! In fact, when my husband retires we want to go across country in one. We love to fish so we’ll probably hit some good fishing spots and, of course, see all the great things there are to see in the US.
